Summer in Korea 2014

In the weeks prior to coming, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. It was almost like going to college all over again. I was scared out of my mind to fly alone…non-stop…on an international flight…like WHATTTT?! But it all worked out in the end and I can’t believe these 6 1/2 weeks have flown by so fast :( it was hard to pick only 10 pictures to put in one post because i have literally done so much in such a limited amount of time that it almost seems so surreal so here’s a summary of my trip:

- cheap meals and delicious food (both restaurant and street food) :P
- bingsu, bingsu, bingsu, bingsu, and did I mention bingsu?!? <3333
- exploring traditional places ie. palaces, Bukchon Hanok Village
- probably one of my most favorite days: Hyehwa where we visited Ihwa Mural Village and had the most amazing view of Seoul while sitting on the Seoul Fortress Wall and nice refreshing drinks in the park haha
- Hongdae and all it has to offer: Hello Kitty Cafe, 1000 won ice cream waffle that is soooo good, Trick Eye Museum, Cocoon/NB2
- 3 day weekend trip to Gyeongju and Busan where I tried live octopus, visited a couple temples, tried seed heoddeok, and had probably the best KBBQ of my life
- Namsan Tower with a beautiful night view of the city (all those love locks though like woahhhh)
- the friends from all over the world that I was lucky to meet, get to know, and travel with because without them I don’t think this experience would be the same
- dog cafe with some of the cutest dogs I have ever seen
- Itaewon, Insadong, Gangnam shopping
- the unbelievable amount of mosquito bites that I got the first few days I was here (made my life absolutely miserable T.T )
- cute socks for so cheap that I wish I could buy all of them and bring them home with me :)
- last, but not least, the beautiful campus of Yonsei University which I have had the privilege of studying at (the whole point of “studying abroad”)

It was definitely an experience I will never forget and will keep with me forever. Korea, I’ll most definitely be back ;)

thank you korea for your lovely welcome gift of my swollen finger, part of my hand and the red splotches on both my arms due to the likely cause of bug bites. this really is making my time here all the more enjoyable.

also doesn’t help that the pharmacy close by is closed for the day/night, hopefully not weekend…
